Kids can jump back in time during Village Adventures

Registration is now open for the Village Adventures Summer School Program

Through a collaboration with the Fond du Lac School District and the Fond du Lac County Historical Society elementary school-aged children can take a leap back in time to experience life in a one-room school house.

Students spend their days learning how to navigate life at the turn of the century, doing daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, schooling, and some not-so-daily tasks, like performing a wedding ceremony.

The Village Adventures summer school program has been transporting children to the past since 2015, but has deeper roots in a 2002 special grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council. This is an opportunity open to all Fond du Lac County elementary students to experience history; to live it, and through living it, gain a deeper understanding of the county’s past.
