About Us

I am honored to be your President for the second year, and I hope that we can make as much progress during this year as we did in the last year.

Our Village Church has undergone a wonderful transformation. For the first time since it arrived in our village the interior has been painted and new carpeting is planned for the near future. The building was originally donated by members of the Congregational Church of Eldorado. Built in 1891, the Dissolution day service was held on December 1, 1968 at 8:00 a.m. The Building was dismantled and moved as four flat sides and a roof. It made the twenty-five mile trip in good shape, with the steeple being brought separate. After a time, a few weddings were held in the church without advertisement, but during the last few years, we have advertised it for weddings during the summer months. There is no heat as of yet, so a winter wedding would be really chilly! We have also had an Eagle Scout presentation and it is now available for renewal of vows or any similar service. A collection of Bibles will be on display during the summer months to be removed during the winters. To book a service please call 922-0991.

This year, the Society has two goals: to obtain a sponsor for each building and to put a donation box in each building so that people can donate to their favorite building for its upkeep.

Donations are needed for the upkeep of each building because they are basically antiques and the elements in Wisconsin are not kind to them. They are wearing down and to keep our Village beautiful, your help is needed. A donation, however small, is appreciated so very much. Children are encouraged to pick out their favorite building and put a few pennies in the box.

Sponsors are needed for every building except the Fire Station and the Taycheedah Town Hall/Lawyer's Office. Those two buildings have wonderful sponsors and we are so very grateful for everything they do. If you or your group are interested in sponsoring a building, please get in touch with me at 922-0991. The sponsorship need not be a huge undertaking. In the spring we always need help when we open the buildings after the long winters….just dusting and sweeping are needed. It is an overwhelming job for the few that volunteer to do it. If you have a large group, a monetary collection is certainly very much appreciated; it is then put into a fund for only that building. When repairs are needed the money is then available.

You are welcome to bring a bag lunch and use the Exchange Club Pavilion during your visit. The Pavilion is available to be rented for picnics and meetings, with awning type curtains that can be lowered during inclement weather.

Thanks you for visiting us and welcome to our beautiful grounds!!
