Galloway House and Village Serves Up Their 63rd Annual Ice Cream Social

The Fond du Lac County Historical Society’s 63rd Annual Ice Cream Social is on Aug. 11th from 12pm to 4pm at the Galloway House and Village. The event is featuring the return of Celebrity Servers, who served over 30 gallons of ice cream in 2018 to attendees. Celebrities serving up the frozen treats this year include Fond du Lac County Executive Allen & Betty Beuchel; Rachel Coulthurst, Miss Wisconsin Central 2019; Kiana Schraufnagel, Miss Fond du Lac’s Outstanding Teen; Peter O’Leary, Chief of City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue; Chief Bill Lamb, Chief of the Fond du Lac Police Department; and Amy Jahn, Principal of Pier Elementary School among others.

The Galloway House and Village and Blakely Museum will be open throughout the event for guests to explore and tour. The village consists of over 25 historic buildings from all over Fond du Lac County, while the Blakely Museum is home to thousands of artifacts that tell the stories of people and places that make the county unique.

The 2019 social activities include the Cristo Rey Ranch petting zoo, the Wisconsin Wheelmen, musical performances from the Fond du Lac School of Music, Civil War reenactors and a dress-up photo station. Food available for purchase includes walking tacos, hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, lemonade, soda, water, and extra scoops of ice cream. A variety of free ice cream toppings will be available until gone. Tickets are $5 and includes admission and an ice cream or a bottle of water.
