Marianne Geiger, Secretary
Several years prior to retirement, Marianne Geiger thought about volunteering at the Historic Galloway House and Village. And that is exactly what she did upon retirement from the Fond du Lac County Executive’s Office. She is proud to be part of the Friday docent team for 10+ years welcoming visitors and giving tours of the Historic Galloway House and Village. People are amazed at Fond du Lac County’s “hidden gem”. Visitors come not only from our city and county, but all over Wisconsin and the United States, as well as foreign countries! Often volunteers learn from the guests; hearing their interesting stories of life 100+ years ago, the Galloway Family, artifacts in the buildings, etc.
Marianne has been on the Fond du Lac County Historical Society Board for two years, serving as secretary. She is also a board member of the Fond du Lac County Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC), Fond du Lac County Association for Home & Community Education (HCE), Wisconsin Bookworms reading program for Head Start children. She also volunteers at the Fondy Food Pantry, church, and more.
Marianne and her husband Bob reside in the township of Byron and have two sons who live in Oshkosh with their spouses. Her greatest blessings are her three grandkids.
